Here are some links that offer summer adaptive sports. Some are good places to start to plan a Summer getaway to. There are more options in the Access-Able Destinations Database and probably some we missed. Many of them are for all disabilities not just mobility. So get out there and enjoy summer!

Beaches, Trails, and Parks

Accessible San Diego
San Diego is a popular destination with a lot to offer travelers with special needs. Accessible San Diego provides a great web site and access guide to help you plan your trip - including information about the motorized beach cruisers at Mission Beach.
Honolulu Beach Access & All Terrain Wheelchair Locations
The Hawaii Department of Parks & Recreation has a site listing the locations of beaches with mats and the locations of the Landeez All-Terrain Wheelchairs. These chairs are available seven days a week FREE of charge through the Department of Parks & Recreation.
Cape Cod Beach Access
 The Cape Cod Disability Access Directory lists all of the amenities on Cape Cod including where you can find beach access, beach mats and beach chairs.
Beachwheels, Inc.
 Southern Ocean County, NJ makes access a priority. The communities of Long Beach Island have constructed more than 30 ramps to ocean and bay beaches, and civic groups have worked to equip the area with more than 45 "Beach Wheels" wheel chairs suitable for the beach and surf. 
Myrtle Beach, SC Beach Chairs
 In Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and Surfside Beach, beach-going wheelchairs are available for use free of charge. These chairs are sturdy and come equipped with an umbrella and large balloon tires for maneuvering through soft sand.
Atlantic County, NJ - Beach Access and Surf Chairs
 Each city that has a municipal beach within Atlantic County provides accessible beach access. Municipalities also have "surf chairs" that can be maneuvered over the sand. Each town has an area/ point(s) of access onto the beach. Their site lists all of the locations as well as a lot of other access information for Atlantic County.
Hilton Head, SC Beaches
 Hilton Head offers about 14 miles of beaches with most of it being along the Atlantic Ocean coast. This site lists the locations of accessible beaches that have beach mats along with other helpful information.
AUSTRALIA - New South Wales Parks & Wildlife Service
 Located in Australia, the NSW Parks & Wildlife Service has a complete list of wheelchair accessible and wheelchair friendly parks along with detailed descriptions of the parks' features and facilities. 
Accessible Beaches in the United States
 Gimp on the Go has compiled a list of US beaches that are wheelchair accessible and provide beach wheelchairs. This is a pretty thorough list that includes contact information. 
Trail Head Trail Center
 There are a growing number of trails and parks accessible to people with disabilities in Northern California on the San Francisco Peninsula and South Bay. This site has an extensive list of accessible trails in San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz Counties. 
Access Indiana
 This site contains a listing of some of the areas within the Indiana Division of Forestry which contain wheelchair accessible areas. You will find information about; campsites, fishing, trails, nature centers, picnic shelters, beaches/bath houses, archery range and more.
Access Maine Outdoors
 This Accessible Recreation, Arts and Leisure guide presents information about recreational opportunities available to people with disabilities in Maine. You will find access information about; beaches, boating, hiking and camping, horseback riding, hunting and fishing, summer camps, swimming pools and more. 
Massachusetts Beach Chairs
 Here you will find the locations of beach wheelchairs that feature large balloon tires for travel across sand to the water. Locations cover Western MA, Central MA, Greater Boston, North and South of Boston as well as Cape Cod. There is no fee - just bring someone to push the chair. Reservations are recommended.
Accessible Beaches in the UK
 This site about Caravaning (RV'ing) has a helpful list of wheelchair accessible beaches in the United Kingdom. Details include parking, beach access and if there are any facilities.
Access California
 The California Coastal Commission has a great web page that lists the locations of all the beaches in California that have beach wheelchairs available. Their goal is to make sure that everyone - including visitors with disabilities - has access to the natural and cultural wonders that make up California State Parks. You will find countless recreational opportunities within California State Parks.
National Park Service
 The National Park Service has an easy to use web site that includes access information for each park within the national park system. To view this information you will have to first pick a destination and then choose Accessibility from the menu. 
Wheelchairs On The Go - Florida
 This book covers just about everything you could need while visiting Florida. They have access information about sports complexes, arenas, beaches, lodging and more.

Wilderness Inquiry
 Sharing outdoor adventure with everyone is our mission - and our passion. W.I. offers a wide variety of canoe, sea kayak, dogsled, raft, horse pack and hiking trips throughout North America and the World. These trips are fun, interesting, and, we think, a great value. The unique thing about W.I. is that we make the outdoors accessible to everyone, including persons with disabilities. We hope to see you on the trail! 
Access Tours
 Access Tours has been offering accessible package tours of National Parks and other special areas in the West, especially for slow walkers and wheelchair users, along with those who would normally accompany them, since 1989. Able-bodied people who find our tours to their liking often join us. Singles welcome. Vehicles are wheelchair lift equipped and accommodations are always accessible.
Shake-A-Leg, Newport
 Shake-A-Leg is a progressive rehabilitation center that operates four major programs: Body Awareness Therapy; Body Awareness Therapy for Teenagers; Adaptive Sailing; and Confidence Is Cool programs for children with disabilities. All programs challenge and encourage participants to move beyond what they think possible, generating the self-worth, confidence and esteem needed to build fulfilling lives.
Shake-A-Leg, Miami
Shake-A-Leg, Miami offers a variety of sailing programs and other recreational opportunities. All programs challenge and encourage participants to move beyond what they think possible, generating the self-worth, confidence and esteem needed to build fulfilling lives.
 ORCA's (Outdoor Recreation and Community Access) mission is to promote inclusive recreation and adaptive outdoor pursuits for Southeast Alaskan's. During the summer months they focus on being outside and enjoying the natural wonders of SE Alaska. Some activities include: kayaking, biking, hiking, rafting, canoeing and multi-day adventure trips. Adaptive equipment is available so people of all abilities can participate.
U.S. Adaptive Recreation Center
 In July and August the USARC takes to the fresh waters of Big Bear Lake, CA for wet and wild water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, sailing and fishing. A variety of modified and standard recreation equipment is used and they have an exciting off-road, downhill wheelchair program that offers access to back-country terrain and gravity-fed thrills.
Challenge Aspen
 Challenge Aspen offers everything from award winning gold medal fly fishing and rafting, to horseback riding, hiking and biking (hand cycling and tandem biking with a guide). They also make possible golfing, tennis, kayaking and more. Their cultural and arts participation programs and festivals utilize the Aspen Music Festival, Janus Jazz Aspen, Aspen Theater in the Park, Anderson Ranch Arts Center and the Snowmass Hot Air Balloon Festival, to name a few.
Maine Handicapped Skiing
 Maine Handicapped Skiing offers a variety of adaptive summer activities to adults and children with physical disabilities always free of charge. Participants have the opportunity to take lessons in canoeing, kayaking, golf and cycling in locations throughout Maine from June through September. 
Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports
 Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports started as a small ski program over 17 years ago. They now have an impressive summer program that includes; Adventure Weekends, Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Tandem Cycling, Horseback Riding, Indoor Rock Climbing and Hiking.
Michigan Adaptive Sports
 Michigan Adaptive Sports (MAS) is a chapter of Disabled Sports USA, established for the purpose of providing sports, recreation and physical fitness opportunities for persons with disabilities. Their summer programs include: Water Skiing, Handcycling, Kayaking, Sailing and Fishing.
Eagle Mount Billings
 Welcome to Eagle Mount Billings in Montana! Do you have a disability? Maybe someone you know is disabled. Eagle Mount Billings offers recreational programs for people with all disabilities of all ages including: Equestrian, Swimming, Bicycling, Golfing and Day Camps.
STRIDE at Jiminy Peak
 STRIDE is dedicated to enriching the lives of children who have disabilities by offering sports and recreation programs and opportunities. Some of their summer programs include: Bowling, Swimming, Little League, Sailing and Weekend Camp Trips.
Durango/Purgatory Handicapped Sports Association
 The Adaptive Sports Association's summer program has been offering outdoor recreational activities to people with disabilities for over five years. The goal of the program is to provide an inclusive environment in which people with disabilities (and their friends and families) can enjoy the exciting activities that Durango and the Rocky Mountains are known for such as rafting, hiking and fishing. 
Adaptive Sports Center
 What would you like to do while in Crested Butte, Colorado? Spend a few nights on the river or perhaps an afternoon canoeing at Lake Irwin? Challenge yourself on the ropes course? Other activities include downhill mountain biking, handcycling, rock-climbing, hiking, pontoon boating, sea kayaking, multi-day river trips, whitewater rafting & camping.
Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center
 Their year-round Wilderness Program focuses on strengthening communication, emphasizing abilities, challenging one's self by choice, and of course, having a good time. Groups usually combine several of the following activities: Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Backpacking and Hiking, Whitewater Rafting, High Ropes Course, Camping, Orienteering, Wilderness First Aid, Sea Kayaking and Peak Climbs.
National Sports Center for the Disabled
 NSCD is located in Winter Park, Colorado and has been a world leader in providing recreation for people with disabilities since 1970. The NSCD offers a variety of exciting summer adventures, including AbilityCAMPs, rafting, kayaking, canoeing, special camps, horse pack trips, therapeutic horseback riding, mountain biking, golf, camping, and rock climbing.
Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports
 The Adaptive Ski Program at Camelback Ski Resort is a partnership between Camelback, and the PennsylvaniaCenter for Adapted Sports. Skiing is located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.They also have information about Sled Hockey, in their region a new six team league has been formed, first in the country.

Disabled Sports USA
 The DSUSA offers nationwide sports programs to anyone with a permanent physical disability.It is comprised of a network of community based chapters, each offering a variety of recreational activities.DSUSA has long recognized that the ability to participate in a sport, such a skiing, provides a valuable opportunity to enjoy a shared activity with family and friends.Their web site is a great resource for locating sports chapters in your area.
 Their motto is 'infinite potential through assistive technology' and they are founded by the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Chicago and United Cerebral Palsy Associations, Inc. On their site you will find information about how to obtain adaptive equipment for the following recreations: Enabled Gardening, Swimming, Sailing, Scuba Diving, Fishing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Waterskiing, Adaptive Golf, Mountain Climbing, Biking, and much more.
 Palaestra is a quarterly publication for those with disabilities.It is a premier resource for adapted physical activity.
Sports 'n Spokes
 Sports 'n Spokes is a bimonthly magazine that is "dedicated to the active wheeler" and has long been known as the most sports-oriented magazine for people with disabilities.

 This is a great site that has a ton of adaptive summer products including beach and pool (submersible) wheelchairs, fishing, golf and gardening equipment, pool lifts, standing frames, ramps, cycles and much more. This is a one-stop-shop for all of your adaptive recreational needs. 
The Landeez All-Terrain and Beach Wheelchair
 The Landeez all-terrain and beach wheelchair was designed specifically to enable people who use wheelchairs to come in closer contact with nature. The Landeez can roll easily over sand, snow, and gravel. Its soft plastic pneumatic tires absorb almost all road shocks for a remarkably comfortable ride

De-Bug Beach Wheelchair
